SMITH LAKE — Two people were taken to the hospital after an incident on Smith Lake.
According to a news release from the Douglas County Sheriff's Office, a call came in at 12:05 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 12 of a skid loader accident at an address on Smith Lake. The lake is located west of Osakis and south of Nelson.

After arriving at the residence on Longview Circle SE, deputies learned that the skid loader was being used to remove dock equipment from the lake. As the skid loader was backing out of the lake, it tipped forward.
The news release stated that Jody Nathe, 52, and Julie Nathe, 57, were transported to Alomere Health with non-life threatening injuries.
Osakis First Responders and the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources assisted the sheriff's office during the call.
