NORTH CANTON, Ohio (WJW) — Early-morning thieves ripped an ATM from the pavement using a forklift taken from a nearby construction site, according to North Canton police.
The ATM was stolen from the Fifth Third Bank at 1637 N. Main St., according to a news release. Police got the call from the bank’s security company just after 4 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 15.
Waffles sold at Giant Eagle, Walmart, Target recalled
Officers at the scene found the forklift abandoned behind the bank and debris from the theft.
Police later confirmed the machinery had been taken earlier that morning from the secured construction site of a Wendy’s in the 200 block of Applegrove Street Northwest, according to the release.
“… The forklift was driven north through parking lots and grassy areas behind local businesses up to the rear of the bank,” the release reads.

The Stark County Sheriff’s Office learned that parts of the ATM were found in another construction site in the 3700 block of Mount Pleasant Street Northwest.
The ATM was valued at $26,000 and its contents were valued at up to $44,826.
The incident remains under investigation.
