CLIFTON -- A $5,000 reward is now being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the persons responsible for stealing a front-end loader in Clifton last week.
According to the Penobscot County Sheriff's Office, an investigation confirmed the machine was driven through a gate and down Route 9 for several miles before being hidden on another person's property not associated with the theft.
The sheriff's office says the action put the public at risk and disrupted a business's ability to operate.
The front-end loader has since been located, but the investigation remains active.
Tips can be shared through the Penobscot County Sheriff's Office mobile app or by calling (207) 947-4585.
