OLEY TWP., Pa. - Central Berks Regional Police are investigating the attempted theft of an ATM machine in Oley Township.

It happened just before 2:30 a.m. Saturday at a Truist Bank ATM located in the 1100 block of Memorial Highway.

Investigators say a person (or persons) used a front-end loader in an attempt to lift the stone structure that housed the ATM off its base in order to access the machine.

The front-end loader, which was still running when police arrived, was later discovered to be stolen.

At this time, police say it doesn't appear any cash was taken from the machine.

Central Berks Police are asking anyone with information about the incident to call them at (610) 779-1100.
