Nov 28, 2023Toro Dingo TX 1000 Turbo Compact Utility Loader - Pro Tool Reviews
The Dingo line has been around for more than 30 years building a reputation among landscapers and contractors. There’s an upgrade many people have asked for and the Toro Dingo TX 1000 Turbo now offers a Yanmar diesel engine option for the popular compact utility loader.
The big change for this model is swapping the engine for a 24.7 horsepower Yanmar Turbo Diesel (3TNV80FT). The previous version of the Dingo TX 1000 that launched in 2015 uses a Kubota D1305.
The Yanmar option provides more torque. What you’ll notice is an increase in travel speed, more confidence moving up inclines, and stronger operation of your attachments.
One consequence is that the machine is heavier with the Yanmar engine, and that has an effect on the ground pressure of the treads. On the narrow treads, you’re running 6.1 PSI compared to 5.6 PSI on the Kubota-powered version. Toro Dingo 1000 TX Turbo also has a wide tread model, bringing that down to 4.1 PSI (the previous model is rated at 3.6 PSI).
If you’re familiar with the original Dingo TX 1000, most everything else you know and love about it is still the same in the Turbo model.
That said, the track system gets an upgrade with the Turbo model to be more durable than the original design. The Traction Control System has a digital display upgrade as well.
